This one started
(and actually ended) as a quite quick OOB build. I used no after market, and
scratch built a few details only. This has been my first WWI subject since I was
a kid.

The cockpit was
enhanced a bit by adding a few scratch built details. The construction was
straightforward; I used a Lego blocks jig to align the fuselage and the wings.
Painting was done with Humbrol
enamels and Lifecolor acrylics, mainly using a Badger 200. The dope green
stripes have been applied by dry brushing; more or less, as in the real plane!

The cabane struts turned out to
be short, so they were lengthened up with stretched sprue of suitable size.
The wood grain on the
propeller was done with a brown pencil kindly supplied by my daughter Chiara.
Rigging is 0,12 mm fishing line.
Decals are from the box, and the markings depict one of the planes flown by
Manfred Von Richthofen; this scheme was IMHO much more interesting than the one
almost all red of the last plane flown by the Red Baron.
Hope you enjoy it!
Massimo
