Baton Rouge Scale Modelers recently hosted Cajun Modelfest XXI, with this years' theme "The Fabulous Forties".  The event was very successful with modelers coming from all around Region 6 bringing and exceptional lot of kits, many we had not seen before. With the twin hurricanes last year it took a while for clubs across the South to regroup, and the vendors took an especially hard hit, since many are based in coastal cities from Mississippi to Florida. This year we had a lot of fresh faces and new catagories.  Five "Best-of" catagories recieved a Louisana "boot" award crafted from Louisiana Cypress.

We would like to extend our thanks to the crew of Lousiana Naval Warfare Musuem and USS Kidd DD-661.  We would like to extend a very special thank you to our sponsor, Autozone, for helping to make this event a success.  I believe we have the only raffle where you might just win a power buffer, mechanics wrench set or bench grinder on a raffle ticket!  Thanks to everyone who helped out with this event. Please check our website for further details, and help support the USS Kidd museum and the fine work it
is doing for the community.
