1/32 Hasegawa Me 163 Komet

Here’s my first attempt at a German aircraft. I was always intrigued at the camouflage schemes of the Luftwaffe and was quite happy at the outcome. The kit went together well with only a few fit problems, nothing a little filler didn’t fix. The kit looked a bit sparse so I added a Grand Phoenix Interior and some parts from the Eduard detail kit. Decals came from Aero Master and were flawless. Standard RLM colours from the Model Master Acrylic line were used throughout. All weathering was done with acrylic washes and chalk pastels for the cannons and ejector chutes. The engine was detailed using stretched sprue and wire…too bad most of it can not be seen after assembly!

Although this is an older kit it was still a pleasure to build. The available references on this plane give you many choices to pick a model scheme. A very nice start to my Luftwaffe collection!
