Hi everyone!!!
This time I'm posting a very special and well known aircraft, the Vampire.
I was very pleased when Classic Airframes released this kit as I've been waiting
many years to build one and scrathcbuilding one has been out of the question.

Ok. The object of this
article is a DH Vampire FB. 5 flown
with The Royal Canadian Air Force by the 421 Sqdn. in 1951.

The model was all
fun and my first
time building a Classic Airframe product. The construction started with the resin pieces
for the cockpit
painted in flat black, dry-brushed whit aluminium, the pilot seat in an olive
drab and brown colors and seat belts made white tape strips.

As a brand new user
of Alclad II, I decide to paint the model in an overall aluminium finish. The model
offers 3 airforce markings for this FB.5, as RNZAF, RAF and RCAF, and the one
with overall aluminium is the Canadian Vampire.
(I guess Steve will enjoy seeing this one jeje)
The first step after
cleaning up the model was to apply gloss black all over the model, and after
that to start with
the aluminiums. Dark aluminium first, then some steel and finally white
aluminium.
The decals from the kit have an excellent quallity.
Hope you enjoy this
Vampire.

As you know I`m from Mexico and our Air force
flew this
aircraft and soon I`ll post a Vampire in FAM markings. This picture
is of the city where I was born and still live. Monterrey, and a natural
emblem is El Cerro de la Silla
Hope you all
had a Great Chrismas and Very Happy New
Year for 2007!!!
