A few shots of one of my
favorite old timers. Of the two versions for this kit, I chose to do it as
the Expeditor Mk, III RCAF, 1965 ( Post War Version ). I used the kit
markings except for the roundels which are an aftermarket item. The kit is
an easy build with no major problems. The most time consuming part of the
build was the color scheme as I use enamels and let them dry for at least
a week before doing any taping over. The first was the White using Model
Car Works Lacquer. It polishes out beautifully. The second was the Red
using MM Guardsman Red. The third was the Flat Black using MM.

The final was the Natural Metal
using Alclad 2. No gloss on the colors or the Natural Metal except for a
very light mist to seal the markings using a Paasche airbrush. The only
thing not showing in the pics is that I added de-icer boots to the wings,
and the vertical and horizontal stabilizers after the pics were taken as
this particular aircraft had them. This bird took a First Place Gold medal
for me in the IPMS contest here in my area the first time I entered it in
2005 in the Multi Engine 1946 to Present Category and a Silver Second
Place win in 2006 in the same category. This Beech 18 is one of my most
favorites in my collection.
