This
aircraft is my F-104S Starfighter, in 1/48 scale
from Hasegawa, and it represents a F-104S with
the 4° wing of the Italian air force of Grosseto.
I have been wanting to improve the fabulous Hasegawa kit with the
Verlinden detail set, very precise and accurate, and includes besides the cockpit also the radar section and the back section
of the avionics bay.

I
also wanted to represent the aircraft in storage, a situation that might
be a sad sight to the more impassioned, but it is something that fascinates
me a lot!!!
To create the two cloth covers that I have set on the anterior and back
part of the fuselage, I used a wet kleenex dipped in water, glue vinavil, color
green olive, and once dry I have performed some drybrushing with some clear
green color.
In this period near the base of the aeronautics military Italian of
Grazzanise, center of the 9° wing, is set aside in open storage for F-104's removed from service around four years ago, when this wing completed the last operational mission of a F-104 in the Italian air
force.
The
model has been painted with HUMBROL colors, particularly the grey clear, and I performed some washings with some black temper, and after
a coat of MODEL-MASTER transparent gloss clear, I applied the decals.
Another coat of clear gloss and then a final coat of non-gloss clear to
give my Starfighter a dull finish.
I
hope you like it!
I'd like to wish you all the best of times!
Massimo
