Singapore Airlines

Silly Week 2008

I was commissioned by a business customer of mine on the eve of the first Airbus 380 delivery to SIA to do a Singapore Airlines livery Concorde operated by BA on the London-Singapore route many years back.  The kit is a Airfix Air France concorde.  The Decals were from Runway which has predictably yellowed out.

The SIA logo placement was rather tricky as it was over the rudder actuator fairing as is the BA logo on the opposite side.  The decal was sliced into separate pieces and trimmed to get the correct outline to take into account o the contours of the fairing.  The decals when under scrutiny comes with errors as compared to the actual thing, but would escape the novice's eyes otherwise.

Almost all decals are after market as the Airfix ones would almost tend to break under the slightest pressure.  This particular make certainly gives one a fresh respite from other more mainstream ones.
