Tamiya, Revell and Hasegawa F-16's

Chapter 4

Next, a Tamiya F-16CJ.  Really liked this model. Nothing wrong with all my Hasegawa models but the Tamiya kicks their butts three ways come Sunday.  Much better build, so simple, so little putty.  Just a great kit.  So much so, mid-way through the build I went and acquired the Tamiya 1/32 by trade with Tony Hayes.  I won't be building it for a while...but it sure looks like an amazing kit.

The Tamiya kit was built completely out of the box with the exception of the Afterburner decals for the 55th Fighter Squadron of the 20th Fighter Wing.  It has next to no weathering as its the squadron flag ship.

The next models are much older. The ADF (North Dakota) is the Revell kit with a combination of kit decals and spares to represent a photo I had of this plane flying over the Pentagon after the 2001 attacks. If I remember correctly the only thing I added to this kit was a spotlight on the port nose. This is one of the models my cat went and wrecked on me a couple weeks back. Notice the MI tail next to the model, That's the only part left on one of my better models that I could not repair.

The IDF model is a Hasegawa B.  It too is out of the box, aftermarket decals but I do not remember who made them.  This was another model damaged by my cat.  This is not one of my better paint jobs.  Was at the time, but as we all know the more models you do the better you get.

So....of these models I really like the Tamiya.....Amazing kit.  Hasegawa is still very nice, and even the Revell looks like a F-16 when finished.
