Hi!
This is my 2nd
attempt at creating an aircraft diorama. I named it "Spring cleaning"
because it depicts a very possible scene from April in the early 1970s,
when Yugoslavia's "RV i PVO" ( air force and antiaircraft defence )
finally started to receive domestic jet aircraft ( SOKO G-2 Galeb ),
which ultimately replaced obsolete Thunderjets as fighter bombers and
T-33s as jet trainers, while Soviet built MiG-21s replaced the
remaining D Sabres as fighters.
The story is simple:
An old unflyable
T-33, which has been gathering bird droppings for several years, is
finally ready to meet it's doom along with the rest of US delivered
junk from the 1950s. Three conscript soldiers are gathering junk under
a watchful eye of an officer and all 4 are being watched by a crow.

It all
started with an obsolete model kit which accidentally ended with a fogged up canopy.
As the finished model was crude, canopy nontransparent and
overall appearance being incompatible with my latest jewels, I decided to make
the most of it but in a different way.
The T-33 is a 1:72
Heller kit from the 1980s, decals are from Lift Here, figures are from an Airfix
BoB ground set and the rest are leftovers from Italeri C-47 and JU-52, Academy
F-84 and F-86 etc...Mini railway grass was used on a plywood saucer as a base
and the very prominent crow was handmade from UHU tac and painted black.
Paints were from
Model Master and Gunze and burnt umber and black dry pastels were used for
weathering effect.
I hope you like it !
Josip
