John Savicki was the first
day’s winner of our Citizen Blue Angels Skyhawk watch (see pic above).
The vendor room set up went off
without a hitch, plenty of time and very helpful staff that got us all locked in
pretty quickly. No surprises, no hiccups. This was obviously not
their first rodeo. We were only opened for 5 hours today and business was
pretty brisk. I think tomorrow’s gonna be a ball buster though since
lots of folks are traveling today. One of the highlights of tomorrow is
Jim Rotramel’s symposium on air to air missiles; should be very interesting.
We have TwoMikes, PWMP, G-Force
and Mike Grant products at our booth in addition to our normal products we
carry. PWMP stuff will probably all be gone tomorrow and Mike’s stuff is
selling pretty well also. A couple of the highlights I saw were test shots
for the 32nd Eurofighter Typhoon and the BAC Lightning. Didn’t
have time to look at those real close but the sheer size of them was impressive.
I also saw an F-8 Crusader cockpit in 32nd scale from VMD Studios
that looked pretty nice. Interesting that he’s coupled his
booth/products with Squadron MMD which has made a lot of folks around here
scratch their heads.

Virginia Beach
is
Virginia Beach
, touristy with lots of good seafood. I highly recommend Catch 31 which is
one of the nicer/trendier places. Full bar with an excellent wine
selection and prices that are not exorbitant. We ate there the first night
we were there and it was really good.
We spent the previous two days
just checking out the local sites and visiting the beach. We took a
high-speed boat ride on the Rudee Rocket here at the
Marina
. $18 bucks and they take you out for an hour and show you the sites and
look for dolphins (pics attached).
