1/48 Hasegawa Ki-43-I Hayabusa (Oscar)

Here is my latest build. Still a beginner, I was aiming at producing a model with heavy weathering, using as much masking as I could for the markings. This is a nice kit, and I was able to finish it in a little bit less than two months. The only correction I've made was to suppress the wing's landing light, as there was none on a Ki-43-I (Only on late Ki-43-II and III).

Most of the markings were done using Tamiya tape, and Gunze paint. The trick is: Thin your paint so that it's a little bit more thick than usual. This way, the paint doesn't go under the tape.

For the heavy weathering effect, I did use some masking sol, rubbed off after two coats of paint.

In the end, many lessons learned, and a very enjoyable build.
