1/48 Tamiya Fw-190D JV-44

I took a break from building Pacific aircraft subjects and decided to build an ETO aircraft for a change

As with most Tamiya 1/48 aircraft kits, this one was assembled without any major hitches.  Just some small drops of Mr. Surfacer 500 on the wing roots.  Other than that, the fit of the model was great.

Model was painted with Gunze's  RLM color range.  I decided to forego the white decals of the undersides.  I painted the udersides with white, masked it and sprayed RLM-23 (red). It looks more realistic that way since the actual aircraft's stripes underneath varied in width.

Minimal weathering was applied. Kit decals were used and they reacted well with Solvaset.

Am looking forward in building a few more ETO aircraft subjects this year.

Cheers and Happy Modeling
