This sheet features one very
special F-14D. As you all know...the F-14 is being phased out of
service....much to the protest of scale modellers who know better.
This sheet focuses on for
the CO jet from the Tomcatters, which is one of the most famous
squadrons to fly the F-14. The Tomcatters are the only USN
squadron to achieve aerial victories in 3 wars....WW2, Korea and
Vietnam. This particular jet features commemorative markings for
the last Pacific cruise for this squadron before conversion to the Super
Hornet.
Recommended Kits to use
to build your F-14D would be:
- Hasegawa F-14D
- Monogram F-14D
- Black Box Cockpit
- Cutting Edge Masks
- Cutting Edge Bulged
Wheels
- Eduard Detail Set
- Eduard Masks
The 2 pages of
instructions include 4 view colour drawings of this aircraft's paint
scheme and decal placement as well as a wealth of detail photos of this
jet's markings. The decal sheet is full of markings for this very
special and colourful jet. The "Felix the Cat" markings
date back to the USN biplanes in 1929.
