This new decal sheet from
Model Alliance features a 8 aircraft....in 5 largely different paint
schemes.
The first aircraft is a Hawker
Hunter T.Mk.8C 'Admiral Barge', XL584 flown by Flag Officer Navy Flying
Training (FONFT), based at RNAS Yeovilton during 1967. The paint
scheme of gloss Roundel Blue BS 381C over White underside with a Black
nose tip.
The second aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter T.Mk.8C XF985-811 of 759 NAS based at RNAS Brawdy, in
1966. The paint scheme is overall Highspeed Silver finish with
Day Glo panels.

The third aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter G.A. Mk.11 'Admiral Barge', XE689 - 764 at RNAS
Lossiemouth during 1970. The paint scheme of gloss Extra dark Sea
Grey over a white underside. This aircraft has a piece of artwork on
the side of the nose of a white and blue stripe.
The fourth aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter T.Mk.8C 'Admiral Barge', XL580 - 743 of Airwork ADTU,
RN based at RNAS Yeovilton during Sept 1970. The paint scheme is
overall Highspeed Silver finish with Day Glo panels. This aircraft
has a piece of artwork on the side of the nose of a squadron pennant.
The fifth aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter G.A. Mk.11 XE685 - 861 of FRADU RN based at RNAS
Yeovilton, late 1980's. The paint scheme of gloss Extra dark Sea
Grey overall.

The sixth aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter T.Mk.8, WV396 - 748 of Heron Station Flight, RNAS Yeovilton
in the early 1970's. The paint scheme is overall Highspeed Silver
finish with Day Glo panels. This aircraft has a piece of artwork on
the side of the nose of a bird in flight.
The seventh aircraft is a Hawker
Hunter TMk.8M, XL580 - 717 of 899 NAS, RN based at RNAS Yeovilton in 1985.
The paint scheme of gloss Extra dark Sea Grey over a white underside with a
black radome. Artwork is a white winged fist on the tail. This
aircraft is fitted with the new nose to house the radar of the Sea Harrier FRS1.
The eight aircraft is a
Hawker Hunter T.Mk.8M, XL580 - 723 of 899 NAS, RN based at
RNAS Yeovilton 1992. The paint scheme of gloss Extra dark Sea Grey
over a white underside with a black radome. This aircraft has a
piece of artwork is a white winged fist on the tail. This
aircraft is fitted with the new nose to house the radar of the Sea Harrier
FRS1.
The instructions are
straight forward.
The decals
themselves are flawlessly printed and very clearly printed on the 1/72 samples I have before me. Colours look solid and should cover very well, but
the decals appear thin and of a very high quality.
There are 5 pages of instruction
sheets with 4 view colour drawings of these Hunters. This is a fine
decal sheet and a welcome treat for people interested in building this
classic British jet.
