The third plane is a Me-109
G-2/Trop, flown by Hptm Heinz Bar, Kdr. 1/JG77, Comiso AB/ Italy in the
late summer of 1942. This aircraft has a huge
number of victory markings on the tail. This aircraft has yellow
under the nose cowling as well as white wing tips and a white
theatre band. The artwork is Bar's personal marking, consisting of a
baby lion (which was gifted to him from the Leipzig Zoo) leaping from the
Leipzig city coat- of- arms, and is applied to both sides.
The fourth plane is a
Me-109 G-5/AS W. Nr. 110064, flown by Maj. Gunther Specht, Kdr.
II/JG11, Wunstorf/Germany in April 1944. This aircraft has a yellow theatre
band and a black and white prop spinner. This aircraft also features
30 kill markings applied to both sides of the tail. The JG11
emblem is applied to the side of the fuselage below the
canopy.
The quality of
