This latest release from Lifelike Decals features five different Ki-84 Hayate's.  This is Part 2 of  a series dealing with the Ki-84 in Japanese markings from the Fall of 1944 to August of 1945.

The 5 aircraft include a varied selection of paint schemes and markings. 

  • Ki-84 Hayate Kou flown by Lt. Shuho Yamana of Army Transportation Unit, 2nd Hikotai, Ohta AB/Gunma Pref. in the fall of 1944.  Includes Tiger tail art for good luck.  Lt. Shuho Yamana was alive in November and living in a suburb of Tokyo.

  • Ki-84 Hayate Kou flown by Corporal Hajime Shimizu of 57th Shinbu-tai, Shimodate AB/Ibaraki Pref. on May 17 1945.  

  • Ki-84 Hayate Kou flown by Lt. Col. Yukiyoshi Wakamatsu, leader of the 2nd Chutai, 85th Sentai, Hankou AB/China on December 18 1944.  Lt. Col. Yukiyoshi Wakamatsu had over 18 victories and had a bounty on his head for any pilot that could shoot him down.  He was eventually shot down when in battle against 10 P-51's.  

  • Ki-84 Hayate Kou of the 10th Fighter Training Hikoutai, Kita-Ise AB in August 1945.  

  • Ki-84 Hayate Kou flown by W.O. Yojiro Obusa of the 50th Sentai 1st Chutai, PhnomPenh AB/Indo-China in April 1945.  Top ace of the 50th Sentai with 19 victories including a British destroyer.

The quality of these decals is of very good quality.  The decals themselves are clearly printed and in perfect register.  Some decals come in 2 layers to ensure perfect registration.  

This decal sheet provides a very good selection of markings and camo schemes and even some planes flown by Aces.  This is a great sheet to pick up if you have a passion for WW2 Japanese fighters.
