The BAe Hawk Mk.132 was inducted in the Indian Air Force on 23 February 2008. The IAF received 24 Aircraft directly from BAE Systems and a further 42 were assembled by Hindustan Aeronauticals Limited.

Surya Kiran (Rays of the Sun) is an aerobatics demonstration team if the Indian Air Force. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team was formed in 1996. the team used to fly the HAl HJT-16 Kiran Mk.2 Aircraft before being disbanded in 2011. The team was resurrected in 2015 on the HAWK Mk.132.

The kit used in the build is a 1:72 Airfix Kit.  Its a decent kit, it came with British and Indian markings, though I did not end up using the Kit decals. There were no fit issues and was built mostly OOB. I did print my own decals, the roundels and fin flash were from bright spark. Colors used were a local Camel brand art acrylics.

Wishing every one a Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind.
