    Saigon fell, ending the Vietnam Conflict in Southeast Asia  

Sebastijan Videc is here to honour everyone in the Netherlands with his 1/144 Fokker 100 to celebrate the Queen's Birthday today.  Long live the House of Orange.


Charles Johnson has been busy detailing his 1/35 Trumpeter CH-47A.  Charles added some figures to his CH-47 and then detailed them.  The cockpit shows up very well through the nose glass.  Nicely done Charles.  


Here's a couple of photos and some text about my recent arm injury.  I'm pleased to report I'm feeling a bit stronger today....although I am taking it very easy.

I received  a very serious cut to my fore arm from a large mirror that broke while being moved.  The mirror was stopped or it would have sliced my forearm off.  It required 21 stitches to the muscle and skin and under lying tissue.  Sitting for very long (2 min) causes shock like symptoms.  I must lie down.

Massimo Moruzzi has put quite a bit of effort super detailing his 1/72 Revell Fokker DVII.  Massimo scratchbuilt most of the cockpit, which isn't easy to do on a 1/72 bi-plane.  


Jorge Luis Loya joins us with his sharp looking 1/72 Hasegawa F-15E Strike Eagle.  Jorge reworked his F-15 to get the details correct and then finished it with TwoBobs decals.

R.  Weiler begins today's update with her 1/72 Revell Fokker Dr.1.  She is the daughter of an ARC regular and I'm pleased to have her tri-plane on the ARC home page....I hope you all enjoy it.


Bill Bunting joins us with his 1/32 Tamiya F-16CJ.  Bill used a very straight forward technique  for removing the canopy seam on his F-16 and then detailed his seat with tape and PE buckles.  His F-16 came out looking quite nice.   


J.C. Bahr is here with his 1/72 Airfix Buccaneer S.Mk 2B.  This Bucc sports Gulf war sexy noseart.  If you're building a 1/72 Bucc....this article by JC will be quite a help to build a Bucc by kit bashing the best of 2 kits. 


Michael Neradkov has been busy improving and detailing his 1/48 Eduard P-39Q-5-BE.  Michael tells all about in his article of this lend lease P-39.

Neil Commerford stopped by the South African ARC Corporate offices with his  1/48 Academy Mirage IIIR.  His Mirage was built with some added details and finished in the striking SAAF colour and markings.  Very nice indeed.


Bill Lachance graces the ARC homepage with yet another of his gems.  This is Bill's 1/48 Hasegawa Ki-43 Oscar, complete with the cockpit detailing Bill does so well.  


Malcolm Reid also joins us from South Africa with his 1/48 Monogram Su-25 Frogfoot.  Malcolm did an amazing amount of work on his Su-25 including using items from Cutting Edge and finished it all off with a nicely weather paint job that came out looking quite nice indeed. 


Oishi Thailand joins us with his big beautiful 1/24 Airfix Ju-87.  You'll enjoy this Stuka......it is sucha  lovely model of this very good kit.

I have a review of the  304 (Polish) Squadron RAF book from  Mushroom Model Magazine.  This book written by Mariusz Konarski and tells the war time history of this famous Polish Squadron in the RAF.

Bill Lachance starts your Wednesday update with his 1/48 Shanghai Dragon Ju 88C-6.  Bill used a photo etch set to enhance the detail and finished it in his usual very high level of quality.  Bill also builds models on commission.  


Calum Gibson has been busy getting the details right on his 1/48 Hasegawa A-4K Skyhawk.  Calum added a full weapons load as well as Remove before flight tags and finished it off with Kiwi markings.  


Sören Bartusch has done an outstanding job building his 1/48 Eduard Sopwith 2F.1 Camel.  Sören went the extra mile to get his Camel looking just right.    


Karl W Branson has been busy building and detailing his 1/24 Airfix BAe Sea Harrier FRS-1.  Karl has proven the high quality of model you can build from this very big Airfix Harrier kit.


I have a p review of the 1/72 Tu-4 Bull (B-29) Chinese AWACS/AEW Conversion from Cutting Edge Models.  For this conversion you would use the Academy / Minicraft B-29 or KB-29 kit.

Hidekazu Ogi is here with his 1/48 Type4 fighter Frank Special Attack Team.  This one has quite the paint scheme.


Alan Williamson is here from Australia on ANZAC Day with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E Phantom.  Alan added quite a few detail item to his Phantom to create his fine looking Vietnam war era jet.


Peter Kormos joins us with his 1/48 Academy P-38 F-5E Photo Recon. Lightning.  This special model is in "captured aircraft" markings....which are pretty cool to see. 


I have a p review of the 1/48 Tu-4 Bull (B-29) Chinese AWACS/AEW Conversion from Cutting Edge Models.  This resin conversion set uses the Monogram / Revell / ProModeler B-29 kit.

Deun Yu starts today with his nicely done 1/72 Berkut Su-27 Flanker.  Deun rescribed his Flanker and added extra details and weathering to get a very fine Su-27 for his display case. 


Rick Reinbott joins us with his 1/72 Heller Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-14.  Rick built this little beauty mostly out of the box with some extra details to improve things.


Greg D. Williams is here with his first article on ARC today.  This is his 1/72 Italeri F-14B with improvements and a very well done display stand.  I also enjoyed seeing the digital in-flight photo.  Welcome to ARC Greg!!!


Philip Limbert has been busy building his  1/48 Tamiya Mosquito FB VI.  Philip built this in Yugoslav markings  and has quite the story to tell about masking his canopy with Bare Metal Foil.  Nice one Philip.


Ricardo Rueda is here with his Tools 'n' Tips artcile about Realistic smoke stains.  Very good technique Ricardo. 


I have a review of the Messerschmitt Bf-109s of JG 53 in Deutsch Brod - Luftwaffe over Czech Territory - 1945 book from JaPo Publishing.  This book is worth checking out if you are a JG 52 fan or a Bf-109 modeller.

  Turkey National Independance and Children Day  

Kaan Gök begins Turkey's Special Day today with his well detailed 1/35 Italeri/MRC AH-1W.  Kaan used plenty of aftermarket goodies and custom made decals and his usual high level of modeling skills to build this exquisite looking AH-1W....very nice indeed.


Stephen Prior has done an extra good effort in building his 1/48 Airfix Sea Harrier FA.2.  This carefully built Harrier will be part of the display by the IPMS Harrier SIG at the 2006 IPMS UK Nationals.

Piero De Santis has been busy doing a stunning job on his 1/48 Hasegawa F-104G Starfighter.  Piero used a variety of aftermarket details items including items from Cutting Edge and Victory Models. 


Massimo Moruzzi has done a fine job building his tiny 1/72 Roden Fokker Dr.I.  The markings for this little gem are for Manfred Von Richthofen.  Yesterday was the 88th anniversary of the Red Baron being shot down by Aussie groundfire during WW1.

Bill Bunting joins us with his eye catching 1/72 Italeri F-5E Swiss Tiger.  Nice one Bill.


François Maheux has been busy super detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-6 Early.  This 109 has quite a few aftermarket sets added to it as well as plenty of work by François.


Jorge Luis Loya joins us with his 1/72 Fujimi F-14D Tomcat.  This one is quite the beauty and Jorge's article includes info on how he built it.

Oliver Weston has been busy building the eye catching 1/72 PM Spitfire VB Floatplane.  I love these Spitfire floatplanes.


Pavan V has dropped by with his good looking 1/48 and Hobbycraft SU-27B in a classic camo scheme.

Rodney Williams starts today with two of his 1/72 Tamiya FG-1D Corsair Race Planes.  Rodney has a passion for the F2G Corsairs and it shows in his models and articles.  Enjoy. 


Juhwan Lee joins us with his very nicely done 1/48 Revell F-15K SLAM EAGLE that he built from the 1/48 Revell F-15E.  This required some conversions and Juhwan explains some of it in his article.


Antonio Armario has dropped by with his 1/72 Airfix Savoia-Marchetti SM.79.  This is one of the bombers used by the Spanish Nationalist Forces in the Spansih Civil War.  The camo scheme would be a challenge to the best modeller....well done Antonio.


Girolamo Lorusso has been busy building his 1/48 Monogram A-4F from the 1/48 Monogram A-4E.  Gotta' love those US Navy aggressor markings.


William G has been kind enough to send in a Tools n tips article called  Resin Casting 101 Or "How to Not pull your hair out when everything gets gooey".  This will be a big help to anyone wanting to try resin casting.

Bill Lachance is here on the 64th Anniversary of the Doolittle raid with his 1/48 Accurate Miniatures B-25B Mitchell.  Bill has done this wonderful kit justice.   


Jaroslav Král joins us today with his very colourful 1/72 Hasegawa F-4 EJ Kai Phantom II.  This Phantom is finished in Japanese markings and is mostly built out of the box, which produced a very nice model.


Gabriele Pugnaghi is here to mark 63rd anniversary of the mission by P-38's to kill the Yamamoto raid with his beautifully done 1/48 Hasegawa P38J “Lightning”.  I quite liked how this classic WW2 fighter turned out.


Evgeny Dedigurov has been busy getting the details right on his 1/72 “Antonov An-72”.  Another interesting Russian jet.

Pablo Angel Herrera begins your week with his carefully detailed 1/48 Italeri UH-1D " Dust-Off".  This special chopper is to honor the medevac choppers from the Vietnam war.


Hidekazu Ogi is here from Japan with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-16C Block30 equipment Block40.  This cool looking F-16 uses the "How's My Driving" decal sheet.  


Pere Lliteras has done a fine job building his 1/48 Accurate il-2 Sturmovik.   Pere displayed his Sturmovik with a winter scene base with snow, which looks very good. 


John Bell has a blast from the past with his 1/24 scale F-86D that he built in about 1958.  This article is dedicated to his Mom Mimi....a very special lady.

Tolga Ulgur stopped by the Turkish ARC Corporate offices with his 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk. 1a.  Tolga built his Spit mostly out of the box with some aftermarket details from Cutting Edge and other companies.

Stewart Gordon begins today with his very special 1/32 A-7E Corsair II.  I loved the detail added to this A-7 and the base......including the tie-down chains.


Alain Carrette joins us with his very well done 1/48 Eduard Nieuport 11.  Alian finished his bi-plane in the markings for a Belgian ace of WW1.  It's always a treat to see bi=-planes on ARC.

Michael Stanley has been busy building his 1/48 ICM Spitfire XVI.  Michael built his Spitfire out of the box and also used ICM figures.  This ICM kit always builds up to a very nice model with a bit of effort. 


Jason Farris has done a fine job on his 1/32 Academy F/A-18C.  He used a Cutting Edge cockpit set and decals from Two Bobs for VMFA-251.   Jason then finished it off with carefully done weathering. 


Andreas Sunarso is here with his  first article on ARC today.  This is his 1/72 Planet Model Horten Ho-VII flying wing.  This is his first resin kit and that didn't seem to slow him down from creating a great looking model of this cool looking flying wing.  Welcome to ARC Andreas!!!


Bill Bunting stopped by the ARC Corporate offices with his 1/48 Tamiya Meteor I.  Bill built this beauty out of the box with very good results.

Tim Groombridge joins us today with his 1/72 Matchbox Westland Wessex HU5.  This is Tim's second model since re-entering the hobby and he seems to be a very fast learner.


Alan Purusram has been busy building his 1/32 Revell F-14A Tomcat.  Alan's efforts paid off with a very well done Tomcat model for his display case.


Rian W. Jones has an excellent article about his 1/48 Tamiya P-51D "Marian".  Rian tells the battle history of this aircraft and a reunion many years later.  This is a very interesting article and very attractive P-51.

Michal Sekula begins today on this historic date with his 1/48 Gagarin’s Vostok 1 from NewWare.  Although this kit did require a fair bit of effort the finished model is museum quality.


Colin Whitehouse has stopped by with his 1/48 Monogram B-58 Hustler.  Holy heck....you've got to see the baremetal finish on Colin's Hustler....amazing. 


Bill Lachance has done a great job on this 1/48 Airfix De Havilland Mosquito FB Mk. VI.  Bill added some photo etch to improve the details on his Mossie.


Thierry Jacques is here with his 1/72 Revell Messerschmitt Me262 A1.  Thierry finished his Me-262 in French markings and some very well done paint chipping along the panel lines.


Steve Negley has enjoyed building his 1/32 Doyusha Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero. Steve built it out of the box and finished it in Pearl Harbor Zero.....quite the sharp looking Zero.

Haroon Nadeem has been busy building his 1/48 Revell A-10 Warthog.  Haroon finished his A-10 with some pretty cool noseart. 


Rodney Williams has been busy super detailing his 1/72 Special Hobby F2G Corsair.  Rodney is an expert on the F2G and he's pointed out areas of this kit that could be improved if you're keen to build a more accurate F2G Corsair. 


Marco Cossu joins us with his 1/48 Skymodels SF260 and Frems MB339.  Marco was intent on getting these model correct and full of detail.

Attilio Tore has been busy doing one heck of a complicated camo scheme on his 1/72 Italeri SM-79.  Attilio painted this beauty by hand.......read his article to learn some of his secets.


Li Weiguang did an outstanding job kit bashing two kit to create this 1/48 Ita-demy F-14AWieguang explains the whole project in his article how this great looking F-14 was created.

 Portugal "Dia do Combatente" Day of Remembrance 

Pavol Vilinsky joins us from Slovakia with his 1/72 Hasegawa CF-188 Hornet.  Pavol did some extra detailing with aftermarket items and good old fashion modelling skills to improve the detail of this fine kit.  He then finished it in Canadian Air Force markings.


John Morrey has been busy getting the details right on his 1/72 Hasegawa Lancaster BIII.  John tells what he did in his article to complete this jewel of a Lancaster model.

Mardaga Roger has put quite a bit of effort super detailing his 1/48 ICM Mustang.  Mardaga used quite a few aftermarket detail items and then finished it off with an expertly done multi-shade bare metal finish. 


Tony Landis joins us with his colourful 1/72 ARII BD-5’s finished off in a Pepsi scheme.  Tony tells about building this tiny little jet. 


Mirko Meier joins us with his beautifully done 1/48 Revell/Monogram Ju-52 Diorama.  Mirko has displayed his Ju-52 in a winter diorama....complete with a kubelwagen and figures.

Fabio M. Moretti is here with his 1/48 AMT Henschel HS-129 B2 in a Russian winter diorama.  Fabio has added scratchbuilt details and weathering to his HS-129 to get the perfect look of a dirty hard used plane on the Russian front during WW2.  


Milovanovic Darko joins us with his 1/72 Fujimi MiG-21 SMT.  Milovanovic  added quite a few scratchbuilt details to get the important areas looking right on his MiG....and ended up with a fine looking model.

Joe Youngerman begins today's update with his 1/72 Hasegawa Hurricane Mk IIc.  Another very well done 1/72 fighter by Joe.....always a treat seing Joe's latest model.


Rafi Ben-Shahar has been busy building two 1/48 Hasegawa F-4 Phantom II.  You'll enjoy seeing these.  


Phillip Steele has done a fine job building his 1/72 Hasegawa Heinkel He111H-6.  This is quite the eye catching model....done with careful attention to detail....well done Phillip.


Scott Gist has put quite a bit of effort into his 1/72 AMT B-52H.  Scott did an amazing amount of work on his B-52 to get it to look right.....the final model looks well worth his efforts.....beautiful.
