"I figured it out. If you are experiencing the problem where the formatting of the forum is basically gone and is all text, do the following. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the link labeled "Theme". Click on it and select "Old ARC (default)". That fixed the problem for me."

Waldek Pupar begins today with his highly detailed 1/72 SDKFZ 231 and Kubelwagen diorama.  Waldek also included a motorcycle sidercar rig to this scene and completed it with layers and layers of diorama detailing.  Very impressive indeed.

Thomas Brückelt has done a gorgeous job building and finishing his 1/72 AZ model DFS Olympia MeiseThis is a classic glider from that was supposed to be featured at the 1940 Olympics which is very cool history.  Thomas has a passion for gliders and you can see that in this glider and his other gliders on ARC.

Tolga Ülgür starts your week with his exceptional 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.XVIeTolga added aftermarket detail parts and finished his Spitfire to a very high level of detail with a lovely weathering job and markings for a Polish pilot in the RAF.

Dragan Cvetic has done a marvelous job building and finishing his 1/72 R.V. Aircraft MiG-23BN.  This MiG-23 is finished in Ethiopian markings, which is rare to see and is cool to see.

Juergen “jott” Klinglhuber is here with a rare little chopper.  This is his 1/72 AModel SM-1/300 with additional wings finished as a Polish chopper.  I love the look of this little chopper.

Dragan Cvetic starts today with his brightly painted 1/144 Mark1 Westland Wessex.  This is a tiny kit but the detail level looks very nice indeed.  Dragan finished it in hi-viz Royal Navy colours with a beautifully done weathering job.

Carl Jarosz is here with a beauty today.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E Phantom II with resin seats and FOD covers and RBF tags and a nicely done weathering job.  Carl finished it in the Indiana ANG markings, which always looks good to me.  Beautiful work Carl. 

Here's a product article for the 1/32 Su-25 PD-62-8 Pylons from Zactomodels.  This set includes one pair of PD-62-8 pylons, launch rail mounting hardware and aileron actuator brackets.  The PD-62-8 pylons were often used on the Su-25.  The pylons are not included in the Su-25 kit, but it does include mounting holes for them (how convenient!).

Shawn "phantom" Weiler offer a fantastically insightful comparison of the Hasegawa and Kinetic F-18 Hornets.  These are his 1/48 Hasegawa and Kinetic CF-18 Hornets 71 and 72 both finished as RCAF Hornets with 2 very unique paint schemes and markings.  Both look fantastic and his comparison is very helpful. 

Tolga Ülgür has done a stunning job detailing and weathering his 1/32 Hasegawa P-40E Warhawk Stardust.  Markings are for a US fighter that operated out of Darwin during 1942 and feature nose art.  The weathering on this P-40 is first class and the added detailing is a treat to see in the cockpit and elsewhere.

 Russia - Soviet counteroffensive under Stalingrad. The beginning of the end (1943) 

Brian Duddy is here with a very well done and amusing diorama called STOP THAT PLANE!  This plane was flown during WW2 by Captain “Wild Bill” Kelso. Belushi.  Brain tells the rest of his story in his article.

Kees Kuyper has been very creative with his 1/72 Italeri Trimotori DC-3.  I like the idea of a 3 engined DC-3 and the Spanish paint scheme completes the scene.

Carmel J. Attard is here with his very cool looking what-if Jupiter in RCAF service.  I love the look of this Jupiter.

Kees Kuyper is here with another of his electro powered gliders.  This is his 1/32 Revell Duo Discus glider with a lone centrally mounted electric turbine engine and very appealing wing design. 


Dave Bailey, aka The rat is also here today with his Aeronavale Firefly FR.1 finished in French markings.  Dave has provided the background history on his Aeronavale Firefly FR.1.  Very cool to see this one on ARC.

Kees Kuyper begins today with his tilt rotor 1/144 Revell Airbus A-400 Mini.  This is quite the involved design and it does look quite real.  This is cool to see.

Dave Bailey, aka The rat has created his 1/72 Douglas Dauntless target tug.  This idea seems to make good sense and Dave pulled it off very well with great results.

Serbian Air Force Day

To track Santa on Christmas Eve with your kids...go to this website http://www.noradsanta.org/  this is the NORAD Santa tracking website with plenty of great videos of Santa doing his deliveries on Christmas Eve.  There are also games and videos and other fun things to do.

Alvis 3.1 is here with his Christmas Eve tradition.  This is his article of the "The Shepherd" from the short story by Frederick Forsyth of a young fighter pilot lost over the north sea as he tries to head home on Christmas eve in 1957.  In Alvis' article you will find a link to the 32 minute audio story which is a most enjoyable listen.

Tony Feredo joins us on Christmas Eve with his 1/48 Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero that arrived in the Philippines over Clark Airfield near Manila on December 8, 1941.  Tony masked and painted all markings and gave his Zero a flawless paint job with subtle weathering.  Amazing work Tony!!

Dragan Cvetic is here with his great looking out of the box build of his 1/144 Revell Eurofighter Typhoon.  Dragan was quite impressed with the fit on this tiny 1/144 jet and it does look good with a gentle weathering job and RAF markings.  I love it!!

Japan - Birthday of H.I.M. Emperor Akihito

Paolo Yuen is here with the 1/48 AMK F-14D Super Tomcat with a beautifully finished weathering job.  This AMK F-14 kit is a popular discussion on the ARC forums and Paolo did an excellent job on it. 

Thomas Brückelt joins us with a glider from the late 1930's.  Thomas modified the canopy on his 1/72 AZ model DFS Olympia Meise and finished it in Czech markings.  This is a sleek looking glider.

Klaasjan Schuuring has done an exceptional job detailing his 1/32 Revell (Dragon) Bf110 C2Klaasjan added extra Eduard detail sets and gave his 110 fully weathering with both engines on display.  Beautiful work Klaasjan.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with a very unique allied bomber from WW2.  This is his 1/72 MPM Wellington finished as a RCAF bomber lost over France in 1941.  It's good to see your Wellington on ARC Shawn, I love it.

Ulysses Almeida is here with a special 1/48 Czech Model Yakovlev Yak-15 finished in the the all red Soviet Air Force Aerial Demonstration Team colour scheme as seen at the Tushino Air Display in 1948.  Ulysses tells some very interesting history about the design of this early Soviet jet fighter.

Carl Jarosz has done a stellar job on his 1/72 Meng F-102A Delta Dagger in the markings of the 32nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron.  Carl painted some of the markings on this beauty and I know you will enjoy seeing the photos.

Niger - Proclamation of the Republic 

Michael Hickey is here with one of the most famous 109's from the North Africa campaign.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa Bf 109F-4/Trop finished as the personal mount for Hptm Hans-Joachim Marseille.  Very cool to see this 109 on ARC..

Mark L. Rossman is here with another of his fascinating article loaded with history.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa P-47M and Mark explains the mechanical development of the P-47 and some of it's operational history.  He then gives good insight into building the Hasegawa P-47M.  I always enjoy reading Mark's articles.

Paolo Yuen has done a first class job on his  1/144 Zvezda A320.  Dragan Air is based in Hong Kong and has some great looking Dragan artwork on the tail.  Paolo gave his airliner some weathering and the markings came from an aftermarket decal sheet.  It's a great looking airliner model Paolo.

Saint Lucia Independence Day

Carmel J. Attard is here with a rare aircraft.  This is his 1/72 Valom Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle finished in RAF markings from WW2.  Carmel provides some insight into the role of this aircraft.  I quite like the look of it. 

Dragan Cvetic is here with a colourful jet from the Yugoslav flight demo team.  This is his 1/72 Yumo G-4 Supergaleb Letece Zvezde (Flying Stars) with added pilot figures and HUD and posed as an in-flight aircraft.  Very cool indeed.

Kenya Independence Day

Dragan Cvetic is here with the first of this aircraft on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Croco Resin Beech RU-8D Seminole finished in US markings with weathering for added realism.  This sounds like it was quite the challenging kit to build, but Dragan got it looking excellent. 

Rafael (RSK48) is here to mark the recent anniversary of the Venezuelan Air Force with his 1/48 Fly Jet Provost T.Mk.52.  Rafael  scratchbuilt the smaller details and then finished his jet with homemade decals to get the colorful markings.  It is a very attractive jet.

Constitution Day in Thailand

Sinking of the HMS Prince of Wales and Repulse   (1941)

"Blackeyes" is here from Thailand to mark the Constitution Day in Thailand with his beautifully finished 1/72 Academy Cessna A-37B "Dragonfly".  Blackeyes finished his Dragonfly with a full weapons load in the markings for The Royal Thai Air Force using Siam Decals.  Excellent work Blackeyes, I always enjoy seeing your work on ARC.

Mike Muth is here with another of his spectacular builds from the great war.  Today you get to see his 1/32 Wingnut Wings Sopwith Pup finished in the markings for a young Canadian complete with text artwork for this fighter.  Mike was impressed with the quality of this kit and gives helpful insight into building it.  I love it Mike.

Thomas Brückelt is here with his excellent looking model of the 1/72 KP Aero L-159A Alca finished in Czech markings.  Thomas did some added work and gave it quite the impressive weapons load and gave it a great looking camo scheme.

  India Navy Day 

No update today, I'm focusing on some behind the scenes work on ARC for 12 hours today.

Louis Chang has put quite a bit of effort into super detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa P-40E Flying Tiger.  Louis opened up the engine compartment and detailed the gun compartment and dropped the flaps as well as added cockpit detailing.  It is all finished with a flawless weathering job.  Spectacular effort Louis.

George Siriyotin is here with a very special Phantom.  This is his 1/48 Monogram F-4J US Navy VX-4 “Vandy 1”, which turned out very good considering the older kit he started with.  This is George's first model on ARC and I hope to see more of his work on ARC in the future.

Laos Proclamation of the Republic

United Arab Emirates National Day

Carmel J. Attard is a master at building rare aircraft made from vac-u-formed kits and today he is here with something very rare.  This is his 1/72 Joy Stick Models Avro Bison which is the first Avro Bison on ARC.  Carmel finished his Bison in FAA markings and has included some very interesting historical photos of Bisons in Malta. 

Dragan Cvetic has done an impressive job weathering his 1/72 Mastercraft Su-22m4.  Dragan finished his Su-22 in Iraqi markings and a great looking camo scheme.

Albania Liberation Day

RSK48, Rafael joins us today with his first model on ARC. This is his  1/48 Kinetic F-16A finished in the special markings for the 30th Anniversary insignia of the Dragons Fighter Group with the Venezuelan Air Force.  Rafael added aftermarket detail parts and gave his F-16 a stunning weathering job.  Welcome to ARC Rafael.


Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with his 1/72 Hasegawa B-25J Mitchell finished with D-Day stripes and nose art.  D-Day stripes makes any model look better.  I love it.

Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with a wonderful selection of Mustangs.  These are his 1/48 Eduard, 1/32 Tamiya and 1/1 P-51D Mustang in US and Israeli markings with beautifully done weathering.  Rafi is a long term regular on ARC and I always enjoy seeing his latest models on ARC. 

Gerd Wilcken is here with his 43rd model on ARC and what a beauty it is.  This is his 1/72 PJ productions, Dassault Mirage M-5M Elkan.  Gerd finished his Mirage in Chilean markings and camo, which looks very good.

Eric Hargett begins today with his realistic looking 1/48 Hobbyboss Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star.  Eric gave his F-80 a flawlessly weathered bare metal finish that looks very realistic.  The markings include a sharks mouth. 

Dragan Cvetic is here with a cool long 1/72 HR Resin MOdels Avia B534.  Dragan found this kit challenging, but that did not stop him from making a very attractive model of this bi-plane fighter wearing Bulgarian markings.

Carl Jarosz starts today with a beauty.  This is his 1/72 Meng F-102A Delta Dagger 327th F.I.S. (ca. 1958) adorned with some great looking markings.  Check out his article for info on building them gem along with some excellent photos.

Gerd Wilcken is here with something very cool today.  This is his 1/72 Special Hobby Fouga CM.170 Magister / IAI Tzukit finished in a camo scheme seen during the Six Days War.  I love the look of this trainer in this camo.

Suriname Independence Day

Thomas Brückelt is here with a very unique model.  This is his 1/72 Unicraft Lockheed Hopeless Diamond, which was an early prototype for the Have Blue which lead to the F-117.  Thomas upgraded the detail in the cockpit with great success and posed his model in-flight for more effect.  This is a very cool looking aircraft.

Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with 3 stunning 1/48 Eduard Mirage IIICJ Shachak finished in 2 different Israeli camo schemes.  These are excellent looking models and the display of the 3 of them together looks fantastic.

Mexican Revolution Anniversary

Shawn "phantom" Weiler starts today with his very attractive 1/48 Eduard/Academy F-4J Phantom, #205.  Shawn dressed it up with some great looking detailing.  I love the look of this Phantom.

Dragan Cvetic has done an impressive job on this 1/72 Academy AH-64a Apache.  Dragan finished his Apache with a weapons load and weathering and Israeli markings.  Very impressive indeed.

  The Day of Artillery in Republic of Belarus and in Russia 

Lloyd Long is here with one of the best looking USAF Aggressor aircraft.  This is the 1/48 Tamiya F-15C in a great looking Russian camo scheme complete with a flawless weathering job.  This one is a beauty.


Michael Hickey is here with a special treat today.  This is his 1/48 Eduard Bf 109G-6/R6 Trop Heinrich Bartels, Red 13 as it appeared in Greece in 1943.  Beautiful work Michael..

Brazil Republic Day

Bjorn Jacobsen has created a highly detailed scene of a 1/48 Crashed B-17G.  The battle damage done to the B-17 is exceptional and the additional work put into the diorama scene is truly impressive.  Bjorn has included 18 photos.

Nick Williamson did a very skillful weathering job on his USN 1/32 Trumpeter F/A-18E Super Hornet.  The details in the cockpit also look excellent.  This one is a beauty.


Thomas Brückelt is here with a rare little aircraft.  This is his 1/72 Fieseler Fi 158 S "Sport" finished in aerobatic livery.  I really like the look of this one.

Greece Hellenic Air Force Day


Ulysses Almeida joins us from Brazil with his colorful 1/48 Hobbyboss F-80A Shooting Star.  Ulysses has included some great history on the F-80 in USAF service.  His finished F-80 is a joy to see and is his 15th model on ARC.

Andri Sanjaya has put some excellent thought and effort into the 1/72 Academy AH-64D Longbow as you will read in his article.  The photos show how how beautifully detailed and finished this Apache really is.  I love it.

Carl Jarosz starts today's update in a spectacular way with his big 1/32 Revell F-4F Phantom II German Luftwaffe JG 72 “Westfalen”.  Carl used quite a few aftermarket detail items and sourced many photos to get the camo and markings looking perfect including stencils with German text.  Sit back and enjoy the photos, this one is stunning.

Juergen “jott” Klinglhuber is here with his 11th model on ARC and what a rare aircraft it is.  This is his 1/72 Amodel Yakovlev Yak-18 “Max” in the markings for the Austrian Air Force.  Juergen has included some interesting his about the Austrian Air Force in the post WW2 period.

Klaasjan Schuuring has done a gorgeous job building and finishing his 1/48 Eduard X-1 Mach Buster.  This is a well detailed kit and Klaasjan has added some detail and finished it beautifully with just a touch of weathering.

Ulysses Almeida has done a lovely job on his 1/48 Revell CA28 Sabre DingoThis is a what-if Australian version of the Sabre Dog (hence the name "Dingo" which is the Australian wild dog) detailed and finished in a special way for this Aussie version.  This is very cool to see.

Algeria - The Revolution Day of 1st November


Wolfram Witschel is here with his second model on ARC and it is a bicentenial bird from 1976.  This is his 1/72 Revell C-54 Q SkymasterThe custom markings were all masked and painted with great success, which is not easy.  Wolfram's finished Skymaster looks fantastic.

Onami is here with his 6th model on ARC and what a masterpiece it is.  This is his 1/144 Revell A400M Atlas in Luftwaffe markings with full interior detail complete with LED lighting.  Onami also added a diorama base complete with figures and ground support equipment and a vehicle.  This is quite the impressive display and shows the true purpose of this cargo plane.
